Like most kids, my son is completely obsessed with video games specifically fortnight, and for his 11th birthday, I decided to make him a llama pinata. In the game, these cute little guys are full of all kinds of goodies from weapons and ammo to traps, bandages, slurps or even chug jugs. Follow these simple step by step instructions, and in a few hours, you too can make your own! I named ours “Yo Mamma” (the llama) but my son likes to call him “Lamu”. I’ve seen these for sale on Etsy and similar sites for around $50 but shipping is often just as much or more than the cost of the piñata and this one cost me less than $15 to make. For it to be a functional piñata you’ll want to fill it with candy and goodies before closing up the body.
Thank you SO MUCH!! My son wants a Loot Llama Valentine’s box this year. You broke it down simply, and again, thanking you so, so, much for the head cut out. Mine will probably look nothing like yours, but I’m going to try!
Glad it has inspired you to give it a go! Send me photos and I’ll post them to this page!
Reckon this would break from multiple shots from a NERF mega gun?
Hi James,
It’s actually pretty durable, but I’m not familiar with the mega gun. One day my son might let me take him to the archery range, that’ll be fun!
This is great and so helpful my son is stoked about his loot llama. How did you go about making the ears? I’m stumped.
Thanks for sharing the template. You made a 7 year old boy quite happy.
That’s awesome Brooklynn! I think you made a 7 year old boy happy, but I’m happy my video helped you make it happen! I just added an image to my gallery showing how I made my ears. Just a rectangular piece of cardboard, folded on the ends and cut the corners at an angle. Also, send me pics of the completed llama and I’ll add then to this gallery!
Thank you so much for sharing! I’m currently building one for my son’s 10th birthday 😊
Very cool! Send pics and I’ll add them to the gallery!
